Trauma Focus

Have you have experienced trauma directly or indirectly? This may include abuse, violence, bullying, natural disaster, serious injury, or witnessing events that happened to others. Did it trigger anxiety, fear, guilt, shame, or feelings of betrayal? Trauma is subjective and can be perceived differently based on one's perspective and experiences. Despite everyone's trauma being different, you're not alone because it's actually quite common.

How does Trauma affect me?

Have you ever been triggered by something unexpectedly? Do you experience hypervigilance, avoidance, irritability, or flashbacks? Or do you feel in danger even in a non-threatening situation? After experiencing trauma, it not only alters your brain but it also has repercussions on your physical and mental health. Trauma can hinder your ability to learn, problem solve, regulate emotions, create memories, and make it difficult to differentiate the past and present. The part of your brain responsible for distinguishing the past from the present begins to generalize, which causes the past to feel present, and your body continues to relive the trauma.

How can you help me?

That's when I step in to assist you in processing your trauma. How do I do that? By establishing a safe and trusting connection with you. We will process your thoughts related to your trauma in order to reduce your emotional arousal, intrusive thoughts, and intense emotions. PTSD is like an injury that hasn't been healed yet, and I want to help you heal.
